Bar Mitzvah celebration
In late October, we were invited to be part of a Bar Mitzvah to celebrate the entrance of a young man into the jewish community as a full-fledged member. The menu for this coming of age ceremony was highlighted with wild salmon filet topped with almond crust and pesto.
We supplemented this delight with a refreshing Mediterranean salad that consisted of vine-ripe tomatoes, olives, shredded carrots, scallions, and of course feta cheese. We topped this with sour bread croutons and lemon-mint vinaigrette.
A favorite of the youthful crowd was the Spanakopita: soft, buttery, flakey crust filed around feta cheese and spinach in a triangular shape. To round out this meal with some energy and a more simple dish, we provided penne pasta with homemade pesto sauce.
Lastly, but certainly not least, we delivered quite the dessert spread with flour-less chocolate, coconut, and pecan cookies for the vegan palate, gingersnap cookies, and fudge brownies. This “coming of age” menu was created with care and delivered with warm professionalism from Oded and his serving staff.
