Ingredients

  • Flour 6 cups
  • Baking soda 1 ¼ t
  • Butter 1 ¼ #
  • Sugar 1 ¼ cups
  • Brown sugar 1 ¼ cups
  • Ground ginger 2 ½ T
  • Ground allspice 1 ¼ t
  • Cinnamon 1 ¼ t
  • Salt Pinch
  • Eggs 2
  • Unsulfured blackstrap molasses 6 ½ oz

Instructions

  1. sift flour and baking soda
  2. cream butter, sugar and spices in a mixer
  3. add eggs and molasses and cream until smooth
  4. add flour mix and mix until combined
  5. chill for half an hour
  6. shape into 1” balls, drop into sugar and coat well
  7. bake in 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes until just firm

makes 80 cookies
